FEW WORDS ABOUT OUR PRODUCT

Corinthia is one of the main oil producing regions of Greece. Situated in the western side of Corinthia is a small village called Lalioti where a certain type of olive is cultivated called "Psiloelia". The rich soil in Lialioti and the suitable climatic conditions provide the right combination to cultivate and produce one of the best olive oils in Greece, which makes it stand out for its exceptional aroma, rich flavour and low acidity.

Over the years, the "Koskoletos" olive groves have maintained the traditional techniques without the use of chemicals, producing the highest quality of extra virgin olive oil. The producers of this fine oil are present at all stages of cultivation, harvesting and production, therefore providing the highest standards of quality to the consumer.

Depending on its acidity, olive oil is classified into different categories. Extra virgin olive oil has the highest amount of acidity, 0.8gr to 100gr oil, or 0.8%. It is considered to be the finest quality of oil taken from the fruit of the olive. The grinding process is done under mechanical or natural methods and always under low temperate conditions.

We produce, standardise and trade this top quality olive oil under the brand name ICHOR. It is an exclusive extra virgin olive oil with its acidity level being much lower than 0.8%. The unique ingredients made this olive oil have high nutritional value and it has been scientifically proven that its properties are very beneficial.

FEW WORDS ABOUT PSILOELIA

The psiloelia oil is very aromatic and golden in colour. Harvesting this olive begins in mid-winter (late January), 3 months after the other varieties of olives. The premature ripening of the olives help prevent diseases such as fruit fly, which usually affect the olives in early autumn with the first downpour of rain. At this period of time the psiloelia is still immature and therefore not easily affected. The psiloelia is irrigated by the Seliandro river nearby Lalioti.
